Thoughts from my Personal Journey to True Self

The inner world journey is both humbling and transformative. Today I want to share a glimpse into my own journey so that you can have one idea how it could look. Your journey will be different, and I want to remind you that there is no right or wrong. Every path will be different and you can’t do it wrong. It’s allowed to take as much time as you want or need.

As I’ve mentioned, years ago I would have never considered needing this focus. I focused on my outer world, prompting everyone to stay focused on theirs as well. Thankfully I was also taking Clarity Breaks regularly, as while I didn’t know it at the time, they were helping me build a company that could shine.

As my outer successes grew, I continued to push things down internally. Each achievement was fleeting, leaving me questioning what I could do next. What would be my next creation? What would be my next goal? How could I have bigger and greater impact on the world around me?

I’m still passionate about those questions, but they no longer consume me in the same way. These days I’m able to take a pause after each accomplishment, big or small, and savor them. From that space, I can then question what would be most impactful next step.

It’s easy to get caught up in external achievements and forget that the real journey happens within. As I shed layers, I can experience more peace and accomplishment after each step of my outer world journey, and create from a more grounded and expansive space. The importance of this journey didn’t hit me until I felt like I had reached the top of the mountain, and as I’ve said a million times, it’s like the Universe hit me with a 2×4. I’d had this tremendous accomplishment and yet I was still searching for fulfillment.

That one moment led me to search for the layers creating that disconnect, and I began consciously walking the journey to my True Self.

I began exploring methods others had used to connect to themselves. I added stillness to my Clarity Breaks and noticed myself finding solutions to problems easier. While uncomfortable and challenging at first, I added meditation into my daily repertoire. I even explored therapy. I stuck with these methods, and tried many others, because I could sense the answers I was looking for were buried underneath all of this.

Somewhere along the way, I began seeing more and more inner and outer world benefits. I was calmer, even during challenging situations. I could take a pause before responding to situations and people and make love-based decisions. Gradually, I began to feel more present in my daily life. I became more intentional in my decisions, more grounded in my actions. This shift in my internal state reflected in the external world—my relationships improved, my business decisions became clearer, and I began to attract even more opportunities.

When you find inner peace, it radiates outward, shaping the world around you in profound ways.

That’s why I’m passionate about the 10 Disciplines Group Coaching Program. It’s designed to help others create a framework that creates more space to access their True Self, so they too can experience a transformation both in their inner and outer worlds. Because when we’re aligned with our True Self, we naturally create a life of greater meaning, fulfillment, and success.

If you’d like to hear more about my journey and the questions other driven entrepreneurs have asked about their own inner world journeys, I encourage you to watch my talk here; it’s one of my favorites I have ever done.
