How did you rate yourself on your ability to identify and remove blocked energy?
Odds are, you have blocked energy. Blocked energy can manifest as physical symptoms such as tension, pain, and illness, as well as emotional and psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, and a sense of being stuck or stagnant. Blocked energy often stems from past trauma, wounds, pain, shame, regrets, and/or something you have been holding back or pushing down for years.
There are many ways to remove blocked energy. You ultimately decide which approach works best for you. In this post, I will share a brief exercise that I’ve found helpful when processing a block, or “matzah ball”, as I like to call them.
Think of three past wounds, past shames, or past traumas. Write them down.
Now, please pick the mildest and easiest one to process of the three. (This is very important, don’t choose the toughest one.)
Think of the one you picked. Now, take three deep breaths. Keep thinking of it. Feel your body.
- Do you notice any tension? Notice where in your body you are feeling the tension or sensation. For example, you may notice tension in your stomach or heart. These are the most common places to feel blocks. Continue to focus on the sensation and where it is.
- If that feeling were a shape, what shape would it be?
- If it were a color, what color would it be?
- Continue to focus on it, the location, shape, and the color. Sit with it and breathe. Focus on it until it’s gone.
Sometimes it is a little sensation and it is gone in less than a minute. Sometimes it is very painful and lasts hours, even days. And you may cry a lot. But it does pass. This is why I want you to pick an easy one. So you can experience processing a block and start to build the muscle.
If that exercise was emotional and you feel like some space is needed, I encourage you to pause your reading and sit or take a quiet walk to allow your emotions to settle.
If you are ready to move on, the goal is for you to clearly see what’s going on and how you can shed all these layers. For some, this will be quick. For others, this may take a long time. It depends on how hard your ego is hanging on. For me, it took a while. My ego was very strong and, as a result, I suffered for many years until I started to really understand energy, the power of recognizing blocked energy, and how to remove it.
You will learn that at different points in your life and with different types of energy blocks, you may use alternative ways to clear or unblock your energy.
